I joined Art on Broadway in September, 2015. As a young art student, I experimented with ceramics and fiber arts before discovering a passion for watercolor. In my work, I enjoy the play of light and shadow while introducing subtle color changes wherever I can. I love painting animals, birds, people and everyday objects. Whenever I travel, I love to capture the essence of my journey with a watercolor journal.
I began painting in watercolor while an Art Teacher at David Douglas High School in Portland, Oregon. I had the opportunity to teach and learn along with my students several of whom took first place at the Congressional High School Art Show in which the winning students’ art was shown in Washington D.C. for an entire year…quite a thrill for the students!
Since retiring from teaching in the public schools, I have devoted my time to creating and showing my paintings. Not entirely successful at retiring, I still teach watercolor classes to adults in the Cedar Mill area.
My paintings have won awards and have been shown throughout the Pacific Northwest. I am currently a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon, Lake Area Artists, the Village Gallery of Arts and Art on Broadway.
