Capturing the spirit of nature and creating a cup, bowl, jar, vase or mask that’s a delight to see, hold and use is my goal as an artist. Working in clay is like coming home. Throwing, rolling a slab or sculpting leaves or buds is centering, soothing and peaceful. Using this three dimensional form as a canvas, I draw on my background in design and painting to create layers of color, texture and contrast in my clay forms.
